Annual Statement

At the beginning of the year, annual statements are made available. We understand that some employees see two or more annual statements and may have questions about this.

This is correct. A separate annual statement is provided for each legal entity and payroll. Each annual statement has its own payroll tax number.

During the year, we switched payroll processors. Employees who were paid both before and after this switch therefore receive separate annual statements from both payroll processors.

You can recognize which annual statement belongs to which payroll processor by looking at the employee number listed on the pay stub:

If the employee number is below 60, then the annual statement is for Work Helpers.

Below is an explanation of the components of your annual statement.

Wage before payroll taxes
This is the total gross wage on which payroll taxes and national insurance contributions are calculated.

Withheld payroll tax / national insurance contributions
This is the amount of payroll tax and national insurance contributions withheld from your wages during the year and remitted to the Tax Office.

Wage tax credit code
This code indicates whether the wage tax credit has been applied. Wage tax credit may be applied to one employer at a time and causes your net pay to be higher.

Deducted employment tax credit
This is the portion of the employment tax credit that has already been deducted through your wages. The labor tax credit is a tax credit for people who work.

Healthcare Insurance Act (ZVW) wage
This is the wage on which the Healthcare Insurance Act contribution is calculated.

Employer levy ZVW
This is the Healthcare Insurance Act contribution paid by the employer. This contribution is not deducted from your salary.

Health Insurance Act contribution withheld
This indicates whether a ZVW contribution was withheld from your pay.

Total employee insurance premiums
These are the premiums for social insurance such as WW and WIA. These premiums are paid by the employer.

Period annual statement
The annual statement refers to the period during which you were employed by us in the relevant calendar year.
